Between history, events and activities, there’s always something fun to do in Manassas. Check
out these events coming up in Historic Manassas and its surrounding area.
Manassas Heritage Railway Festival – This popular festival celebrates Manassas’ rich
railway history. The Manassas Junction was at the center of both the First and Second
Battles of Manassas during the Civil War and is the site of the nation’s first military
railroad. On June 4th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manassas Train Depot, you can board
the scenic excursion train with a leisurely trip to Clifton and back. The kids will enjoy
train rides with princesses.
Wine and Jazz Festival – Saturday, June 19 from 12 to 7 p.m., enjoy a relaxing afternoon
of jazz and Virginia wine tastings. The event will take place on the Manassas Museum
Lawn and will feature plenty of vendors so you can shop at your leisure.
Historic Downtown Walking Tours – Learn about the rich history of Manassas, as told by
costumed historical interpreters. These tours run from April through October on
Thursdays and Fridays at noon. The tour begins at the Manassas Museum.
Classes at the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory – Classes run year-round at this
center for the arts. In May some of their offerings include Acting and Improvisation,
Exploring Watercolor and basic and intermediate ballroom dancing. Check out their

Historic Manassas Farmer’s Market – It’s peak season for the farmer’s market, found on
Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in parking lot B behind Harris Pavilion and Thursdays
in the Harris Pavilion from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shop great local produce, confections and
Manassas Chorale: Postcards from America – On June 3 at 7:30 p.m. you can enjoy a
vocal tribute to America as the Manassas Chorale takes you on a journey across the
various states with their songs. This event will take place at Merchant Hall at the Hylton
Performing Arts Center.
Gainesville Ballet: Spring Recital – Join the Gainesville Ballet for their end-of- year
performance in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, lyrical hip hop, voice and piano. The event will
take place on June 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Merchant Hall at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
School of Classical & Creative Dance: Puck’s New Adventure – Come out for the annual
student showcase on June 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gregory Family Theatre at the Hylton
Performing Arts Center.
