Fun Events in Gainesville

Don’t be bored this summer! There’s plenty to do for every member of your family at Virginia

Gateway, located on Linton Hall Road in Gainesville. They have events that run through the

summer (and some through the rest of the year) that will keep you and your family entertained

(especially if you have small kids, movie lovers or wine aficionados in your family. Check out

some of the upcoming events.

Summer Movie Express – Until August 17th , Regal Virginia Gateway Stadium 14 is showing

select G or PG films for only $1 admission. Movies are at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Little Tots presented by The Goddard School – Every other Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., until Sept

7, there is fun and lively family entertainment on the Plaza at Atlas Walk, across from Starbucks.

Make sure to bring a bathing suit for your little ones so they can play in the splash fountain after

the event.

Blues and Brews – Every Thursday from 10 p.m. to close at Bar Louie, you can enjoy live music

from local artists. Add an ice cold beer and you’ve got a fun evening. This event runs until

December 29.

Wine Tastings and Classes – Cork and Fork offers tastings and classes with highly trained wine

professionals on select days until November 27. Some classes teach food and wine pairings,

while others teach seven steps to understanding wine.

Concerts on the Plaza – Saturdays in July, enjoy live music starting at 6 p.m. The show is at

Plaza at Promenade. Bring a chair and a friend to enjoy the show, and if you work up an appetite,

many of the surrounding restaurants have specials that evening.

Yoga on the Plaza by Onelife Fitness – Saturdays at 7 a.m. through August, join an instructor

from Onelife Fitness for a sunrise yoga class open to all fitness levels. Bring a mat, water bottle

and towel and get your workout in before your busy day and the heat really begin.

Saturday Morning Trail Runs – The Running Store sponsors these Saturday weekly trail runs,

which go to December 31 st . The runs range from 6 to 12 miles at Manassas Battlefield Park.

Runs are entirely up to the group and the coordinator can match you with someone for your ideal

pace and distance. Runs begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Henry Hill Visitor Center.

My Way Matinee – Regal Virginia Gateway Stadium 14  will show sensory-friendly

children’s movies at on August 6th . This event is geared toward individuals with autism to help

them better enjoy a movie going experience. These shows will not show advertisements or

previews, the lights in the theater will be slightly up and the sound will be slightly turned down

to make the movie more comfortable for viewers.

Western Prince William County is fortunate to offer so many amenities, activities and events!
